Ah, I see.

DwG is Destructive was Glaive.
You join a team where everybody has that.
Carry the ashes at all times.
Run at mobs, recast DwG (which forces you to drop the ashes you're already carrying)
Immediately drop the ashes again, for a "double drop"
It's a massive AoE spike, mobs die almost instantly if the team is coordinated.

At first I was "oooh they finally balanced rewards!" but if the bounties are even harder...I already had problems with some of the old ones (I know, I'm really weak) and thinking to stop cause the rewards weren't worth the time and effort taken, but now if the new ones will be havoc for me...I will really give up. Unless the 3 a day are all of diferent difficulties..

You call 7 or 8 Royals Gifts, or 4 medals, and a few plat per hour "overblown"?! When the gifts mostly contain junk?

Made Bauer with some chars today.

1 Infuse... if your char from another campain, or you buy a new armor set... infuse... just to remember heros/henchs share infuse with you, if you dont have all party is fu...

2 Numbers and types of foes are random, you can get a easy spawn or a very hard one. who say, Bauer is easy, maybe get a easy spawn.

My personal experince after some easy runs and another hards trys, any good player can balance heros, improve build, and kill Bauer with any real trouble, just some trys, or maybe a easy spawn.

edit, all done in HM

I like that they scaled the rewards in line with the time/effort involved, yes.

And, as indicated by the statement above, I do believe that 7/8 royal gifts an hour is overblown.

Brauers was actually easy. Much easier than yesterdays for exampe. Being infused helps, of course.

I'm not sure if an unscrupulous guildie has been selling you tickets to vanquish or something like that, but let me assure you, vanquishing is absolutely free. In fact, you should be making money by doing it.

Falken in normal mode will now get you 2-3K and 1 Royal Gift per hour.
And that gift will most likely contain a blue XP scroll.
And you think that is a reward that's "in line" for 1 hour's effort.

Uhuh. I won't be paying any attention to your opinions/trolling in future.

Theres also a number of bounties at the moment, 2 giving 20+10 in HM, and the kessex peak one gets you 10+5 - thats 5 gifts. And you don't always get scrolls, sometimes you get cons, minis, medals etc etc.

I think the point is, Anet do not want you to be farming it. I'm not sure why you are so sure you should be able to? Overblown reward, grindy grindy, blah blah, wah wah, QQ, whatever.

I won't have a definite opinion until I see what happens later today when the new wanted quests arrive. The two inquisitors were fun, and worth the trouble. If more like these appear daily, I'll be pretty happy. I will have to put some more characters through the preliminaries to gain access to the castle though, doing the bounties just once doesn't add up to many supplies.

I was wondering when they'd 'rebalance' the rewards from Falken, Anet almost always seems to fail badly when adding new rewards, so this was expected (see: Zaishen coins)... the rewards in HM are about the same as they were before? Cool, I've been doing it in HM anyway...

Edit: Gah, they didn't at least remove the blue XP scrolls from the gifts

Falken runs were hit too hard.

If anet simply want to stop the massive overfarm just limit the amount of falken runs you can do per day with each character/account - give characters or accounts "falken points" like "dishonour" for PvP and then you get an "hex" that stops Falken from spawning.

Sincerely the new rewards for Falken makes it not worth the trouble.

The wanted bounties clearly needed to be improved - 4 war supplies was ridiculous.

You might be an elitist who believes only people who play with permasins and cookie cutter builds in elite areas should be able to make some money, but I disagree.

People are upset because the game gave us a way to make money without playing in HM or running a cookie cutter speed clear build. They liked playing any class they wanted with any build they wanted and they didn't suffer for bringing guildies or friends, in fact is was more fun to do that. The game gave us that and then took it away because apparently everything has to be a grind or reserved for gimmick SC builds.

Boosting rewards for bounties was fine, but nerfing Falken made its totally wortless to do.
Farming for an HOUR [in NM for an average, casual gamer like me] to get ONE Royal Gift that will almost certainly give me crappy item is NOT fun, it's the grindiest grind possible.
Seriously, those runs were the reason why after many years I was still logging in just for an hour or two last days, did them, had some fun and that's it. Now I'm totally not going to bother, will only do bouties and bye bye for a day. If that's how they want to keep the active player base and good standing economy, then GG. Please gimme the WiK final then and cya in few months, probably.

I feel the same way... It was fun while it lasted and I had something to do while spending all day home.
Off to find another pasttime I guess... Boo!!! Anet...

Unfortunately, what is fun is very different between each person. What you are describing there doesn't sound like a challenge - thats what I find fun. I totally understand the enjoyment behind being able to play what you want, but I can see the logic behind giving more rewards to those who play it in HM and (considering the way it was being advertised on guru and flooded with players in game) I understand that it was a far too fast way to get war supplies for such low difficulty. It simply wasn't balanced.

The harder the challenge in game, the greater the reward.
The easier the challenge, the lesser the reward.

Thats how every single game on the market today works.
